Ely is where David & I shared our first home in England. Ely is just north of Cambridge, in Cambridgeshire - and a close drive to Newmarket (the horse racing place) and Bury St. Edmunds. Many years ago it was an island, before this area of East Anglia was drained to make farmland, so when you're driving to Ely it still rises above everything else, as an island, with the gorgeous cathedral on top. We love Ely, and here are a few photographs of the area.
