In September 2002, David & I drove up to the Manchester area to meet his parents, Jill & Terry, on their canal boating trip. We spent the weekend on the boat, enjoying the scenery, drinking a lot of wine, eating bacon sandwiches, and working the locks. We spent hours in Marple, where we navigated the boat through a series of 16 locks that allowed our boat to get "uphill". My back still hurts just thinking about it. :) All in all though, it was the most spectacular vacation I've ever had. The scenery was beyond stunning, and the whole experience was fabulous. I can't wait to do it again... for longer this time...
